The chase

The chase by Martha-Ann. Nine hares all in a row Switching and swerving, how fast they all go. So fast l only managed to capture three in my frame...lol...

The food of life

Enjoyed a beautiful lunch today. Tuna melts: Tuna, tomato and low fat cheddar on wholemeal bread...delicious!

Anyone got an iron?

I always think that the coats of the spring lambs always look too big for them, all wrinkled and crinkled like they could do with a good iron...lol...

I'm back

I haven't been on here for a while, I actually forgot I had it...lol...but I hope to rectify that now I've remembered.

Autumn's daughter

The river sparkles clear and bright. Burbling o'er stones of chalky white. Meandering through the birchwood glade. While autumn leaves downward cascade. The violent wind has won her way, the canopy's all toss and sway. The leaves fall down like winter snow, greens and golds and russet tones. Beside the beck they line the way with crunching crackling leaves...so gay! But rain drops now begin to glisten, pittering and pattering while you listen. Leaves turn darker, brown and flat, and soggier now they form a mat that slickens in the underwood as rain pours down from up above. The stream's meniscus starts to take the dripping droplets as they make ever widening circles on the surface of the water. Wild, wet and windy is Autumn's daughter!

flower power

ox-eye daisies as far as the eye can see, all waving on their slender stalks like a rippling sea of white

Who turned the light out?

It really isn't right you know,
Whenever raindrops fall
My hair gets this bedraggled look
And I can't see at all...

The beautiful horsetail with it's pretty patterning is a delight to the eye, such a pretty green with delicate brown banding...a spikey little marvel...I know it's a weed and hard to get rid of if it invades your garden but this one was free on the headland with loads of it's cousins so I can wax lyrical about it...lol...

Rainbow

In the throes of death a rainbow delight
Equisite colours, a beautiful sight
As you sway in the wind, jewel colours aglow
Delighting the eye in a pretty rainbow.

subtle in pink

florets of flowers
completing the whole

sustaining the insects
who feed on your nectar

delighting the eye
of each passerby

you deserve a prettier name than hogweed!

Where land and sea unite
Where seabirds scry in wingless flight
Where waves beat out their loud crescendo
Where seabirds sound their innuendo

The sigh of the sea
The cry of the birds

The ocean and earth
Both echoing birth

The ledges are full
With gannet and gull
.
 A wonderous sensation
 A new generation.

Beautiful Stainsdale

Beautiful Stainsdale

Glinting blue under azure skies
Wind ruffled surface reflecting the trees
Pines stand sentinel to the boundary edges
Whilst kingcups, ladies smock and daddy's shirt buttons adorn the verdant growth

Beautiful Stainsdale.

I'm a big gosling now...

Fluffy, yellow gosling    Cute little ball      Soft, downy coating
Braving the wind      Ruffled and buffeted      Finds it hard to stand
Pecking at the daisies     Nibbling at the grass     Heading out alone

Morning mist

Ethereal morning
Steeped in stillness.
Wraithe like fingers of whiteness
Sweep the countryside
Hiding fields and dulling sound.
Half formed trees
Poke there canopies high above the milky whiteness of the
Beautiful stealthily moving mist,
Silhouetted against the leaden sky.

Splendour

                                            She's coming!

Autumn's coming, she's on her way
                                           Changing colours every day.
The myriad greens are now replaced
In reds and golds with yellow laced.
She steals fleet winged across the land
                                           Exploding colour, as she's planned
To change the world to Autumn's sheen.
A wondrous sight for us to glean
To garner in for dark still days
To fill our mind with Nature's ways.
                                           When lying in contemplative thrall
In a blink of an eye we can recall
And bring the Autumn colour to mind
To delight again the inward eye.

twilight

                                             twilight
                                              perfection of imperfect enlightenment
                                               light and dark
                                                 the real and the reflection
                                                  glorious
                                                   beautiful
                                                     shadowland
